How much do you charge to DJ?

DJ service fees will depend on the day, location and length of the party plus any extra equipment requirements. You can fill out the Get A Quote form to confirm pricing. Please be advised that there is a minimum $500 booking charge for all events with a 50% deposit required to secure the date.

Do you provide your own sound and lighting equipment?

Absolutely! For the majority of events this will include DJ decks, premium speakers, premium lighting and required cables. Based on your requirements I can also provide larger or extra equipment to make your event all the more special. If you’re already using an AV company, I can liaise with them directly for a smooth event. Once booked, I’ll take care of everything for you. 

How much notice do you need for a party?

Typically I require 14 days notice for a party but please be advised that services can often be booked out weeks in advance. If you fill out the Get A Quote form I will confirm availability. 

What type of events do you DJ?

I can help with a variety of events including corporate events, private house parties, club galas, function centre events and more. Whatever the occasion I can tailor the music to suit the event’s atmosphere. Given the style of music I specialises in, I probably don’t suit your 18th or 21st unless you love the throwbacks!

Can we request specific songs or genres for our event?

Of course! Please just let me know beforehand what you’d like and I’m more than happy to source tracks and put together a specific genre of tracks. I’m also happy to take requests on the day if I have the tracks available. 

How far do you travel?

I travel all over Adelaide and South Australia for events. If the event is located more than one hour from the CBD there may be a travel charge included in the quote.

How long do you play for at a party?

DJ sets are flexible and can range from a few hours to a full day or night, depending on needs. I will reach out to discuss your event timeline in advance to plan the best set length.

How early do you arrive to set up for an event?

I will typically arrive 1 to 2 hours before the event to set up and conduct sound checks. This allows enough time to address any potential issues and ensure everything is ready for a smooth start.

Do you actually mix the music or just press play?

As an experienced DJ I strive to professionally mix the music – there’s no “press play and walk away” here!

What's different to just playing a Spotify playlist?

Hiring Selector Sounds will elevate your event beyond simply pressing play on a playlist. I will make sure that the right music is being played at the right time to make sure it always matches the stage and vibe of the event. I’ll make sure guests can relax without them having to fight for control over the playlist. I will also professionally mix the tracks to make sure that there are no pauses in the music.
